HARRINGTON & CROWDY HEAD

Harrington is known as a fishing paradise with the bountiful coastline plus 150kms of the mighty Manning River starting here and ready to explore.

Whether you are a fanatical boat fisher, an adventurous rock or surfcaster, or simply a family with kids who enjoys relaxing with a line dangling from a jetty or breakwater, Harrington will satisfy your needs. The fishing is fantastic for jewfish, snapper, perch, bream, blackfish and whiting.

Pick up some oysters or fresh seafood from Stones Oysters to add to your picnic and explore Harrington or Crowdy Head. Famed for beautiful sunrises and just as dramatic sunsets and positioned amongst pristine national parks and beautiful beaches, there are loads of activities for the family.

The European history of the area has a strong maritime flavour as captured by the creative totem characters dotted through the town. Take a stroll on the Harrington breakwall or a drive up to Pilots Hill lookout, where a monument guards the graves of ships’ pilots lost on the dangerous sandbars standing just off the river mouth.

Take a drive out to Crowdy Head, visit the patrolled beach during Summer or admire the original lighthouse perched upon the hilltop over looking the Pacific Ocean. During whale watching season this is a top spot for watching these massive sea creatures migrate.

Play a round of golf at the Harrington Waters Golf Course where you can play a family social game of 9 or 18 holes with cart supplied or a championship round on the slope rated course. Harrington Waters Golf Course is a true test of golf, measuring 5890m, a 9 hole course with 18 separate tees and is a par 72. There is a fully stocked professional shop with a huge range of ladies and mens clothing, accessories, clubs and more.
